I see rotrex have got good tech info on their site which is usefull now. But how you get a 98.5% efficiency from a 1:7.5 speed-up epicyclic gearset is a mystery to me LOL!

I saw a patent recently that uses an electric motor together with a engine belt-drive and epiclyclic to give a 'power split' drive for a supercharger. THAT was neat *smiley*

We always used to use 98.5% efficiency for single gearset epicyclic boxes, although that was on 25MW!

You obviously believe in you sig then Dave?

2.4 pr and 76% eff at the same time would be better *wink* it does look like a screw type doesnt it , maybe calling a rootes type gets round a patent or two .lol
its great to see all these compressor and blower technologies advancing .

But in 2007, the BINI is going to be fitted with a turbo IIRC. So cheap superchargers will be getting scarce, I'm going to get a few spares.

Nice blower, still after all those years just a tad more efficient than a Shorrock :) Dave, how's the mission coming along to get hold of a Mazda Millenia Lysholm blower and report back to HQ about how huge it is. *wink*

If you're going to put your hand in your pocket for a blower, I'd go OPCON everytime. Sadly, I'd rather buy other stuff and other vehicles, which is perhaps why my heaps of shit are always off the road and take ages to get around to fixing :)

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

MINIs are already turbo'd... well the car was launched last weekend!

The supply of cheap 'chargers has been dry for ages since the Cooper S Works Kit became a factory option rather than a dealer fit only option.

You still see a few kits being done at dealers, but not the hundreds like a year+ back.

I'm ok I have 4 in the garage and one under a bonett lol!
