Im bored at work so heres what happen last week end,Small story :-

After robert twisted my arm to push the boost up a bit on the old mini t with some avonbar goodies, we went for thee good old road test.Great day ,sun out , but cold, great for the mini T.

This proved to be a bloody good laugh while showing some weaknesses in the car.Boost goes up Clutch goes down and so on etc.
The mini went well and speeds went up.On the return of the 2nd test, with change of driver , we were on a B road .
Well we were tanking it , can`t tell you the speed .Speedo cable fried, snapped.
But to get an idea,we were reving to red line in the gears, going into 4th when this happened.( i think, mind is a blurr. head hit roof )

We were using all the road , and the surface was rough ,so when i think about it we should have approached with caution.Because just when i was thinking god this mini is fast.....well ,im sure we must have been on the flight path at Heathrow airport.
We hit a large dip in the road and took off..... to land in / on another and launched out of it ......it went very quiet .No road noise .....until we landed .

And when we did , man i thought the mini was going to come appart....rob did well to keep us straight between drainage ditch and trees. We did ok.
Both gob smacked , where the hell did that come from.
Very funny , dukes of hazzard style when i look back on it.
Great fun Robert ,but we`ll use your car next time ...ye ha...*happy*

Anyway the mini t held together ,g/box is ok suspension not bent, i`m glad i built it strong .After its 4ft long jump, with landing marks on the road and in my p%&ts.

So any one got any stories like that ,and how high did you go ?

I know , i know im sorry , it just makes me grin !!!

I did a similar thing once. Mate said keep your foot down ther's a hump-back bridge coming up.

I don't think he expected me to hit it quite so fast. Mini's do get airbourne very easily.

Tried a similar stunt in my 205 gti and the windscreen cracked.

hehe rogues

OOOOOOOOOOH, i just remembered a good one

Back in the day of college, when fast and the furious was all the rage....we were popping down to hellfords in a free period

we were coming up to a disused level crossing, when i said something like "smoke him" to my mate. He put his foot to the floor, i was thinking he was going to slow down, but no...

"FKUC, me i was jok......." as the car lept over the level crossing, and the landing slope on the otherside, coming back to earth with a cringe worth thud.

That was not the end, after this there is a bridge 5'9" tall, and just wide enough for a car, my mate keeps his foot to the floor as i screamed, smacking the mirror on the side of the bridge

he rams on the brakes, stops in the bridge and in a shaggy (from scooby doo) style wimpered "my dads going to kill me"

I didn't but my mate did when we bounced (it looked like something from Apollo13 with him kinda floating in mid air!), twat didnt have his belt on, mind you i didn't expect it to take off as much, I hate to think how high it was, must have been 10 ft long tho.

I dunno how fast either as the speedo was fooked but it was maxed in top in a 998 metro, there were sparks and everything when it landed, i was sure somthing would break, didn't though.

I had a similar experience in the missus brand new (06) rover 25 in norfolk this year. Nice long straight (car still didnt even have 4000miles on the clock), so i put my foot down, saw a what appeared to be a small hump back bridge approaching, my god was i wrong. Ive never seen a sharper humpback bridge! just as i realised i took my foot off but unfortunatly the throttle got wedged on the mat, took off at about 75-80mph, landed with a thud, grounded tho whole car out! Even the towing eyes lost their paint on the underside. Needless to say missus werent happy, considering she was sitting nxt to me! lol.

it may b small but it purfectly formed

I appreciate your comment after alot of time and effort you don`t want some one else to wreck it, but....
Well we have known each other for a long time through good and bad times, and built cars , shared opinions, helped each other in the garage and out.And i know if he broke it he would mend it .So i don`t have a problem with it .

Anyway i think its good to get certain peoples opinions on your car and see it and hear it in action.

i had an 84 primula yellow mini sprite with 124,000miles on the clock, dulop formula 70 tyres, nearly bald, perfect running order but rusty as hell, it was f^*$£d body wise, i was at collage, fast n furious days too! i was on my norman driving home, radio full blast & driving a bit beyond anyones limits, went to make a tight 90 degree left turn @ 45mph in 3rd, the mini went high up on 2 wheels, i was brickin-it to say the least! ppl started to laugh at the bus stop, it had'nt come down yet! i thought the mini was going on its side, thankfully it came down of its own accord, WTF DOES RUSS SWIFT DO IT FOR HAHA! its bloody scary! i really cacked my pants & had to pull in down the road to pick my nads off the roof & repalce them where they normally live, passed the same piece of road the nxt morning, and the amount of rust on the road would have filled a bucket, there was loads, closest i have come to an accident in 9 yrs driving touch-wood! only have 2 other driving incidents but they'll keep hehe

SKYLINES ARE LIKE CLITS, EVERY FLANGE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE: see this sticker on my silvia

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

I jumped a bridge in a mini once... Went tearing through a 40 towards a national, bridge was on a bend, hit it, took off, caught it sideways, i'd planned to do it so very cool... until the flashing blue lights behind me came on. They'd seen the whole thing. Felt like a prize tit and haven't done it again. *wink*
