I want a Mini van, or an estate.
These seem to fetch big money, but this one is on ebay, and ending tomorrow, and if its in good nick, doesnt seem that expensive ???

Obviously its a very gay colour, but that can be sorted. Its MOT'd to next June and low milage. what are the chances of it being half decent ? it was painted in April...which does raise concerns.

Obviously I cant go over to look at it myself....which sucks.

I want a sound base to work from. I dont mind a little welding, but dont want a full restoration project. Re-painting isnt a big deal, and this car would defo need it !!!!

I find it strange no-body has placed a bid yet ??

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

i think it looks pretty good to be honest.
And i like the colour on it *happy*

Estates dont fetch that much plus for some reason high starting bids put a lot of people off.

I think it looks a good buy but as you say its always a risk.

another thing, it looks to have had a full inside and out respray and if you were gong to that trouble then you'd hope they'd have sorted most of the rust.

to be honest how can anyone tell without going to look at it? it does look ok but you cant tell if its full of bodyfiller and in six months the bubbles may appear.

:)

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Looks good from what i can see, but I'm always wary of cars where the sills and rear valance aren't in body colour... Especially following a full in-and-out respray.

Buying a Mini sight unseen is a no-no in my opinion, without a full inspection you just don't know what you will find.

Im aware of this, but such cars are non existant here, and for the cost of travelling over to inspect....it just wouldnt be worth it, unless I had a lot of them to look at.

I seen one advertised locally...must check it out later. Pretty sure its a non-MOT job though, so it wont be pretty.

Well, it's in Stoke - which is where I believe Ben (or) WilH are from. Could be worth giving them a call and seeing if they can take a quick look at it if you pay them some fuel money and a few beer tokens? I know i'd happilly do this; just as you would for one of us?

Sure, there is a certain 'risk' in doing this, but if you pick an individual (like wil/ben) who know a coversil and putty when they see one, then the risk is 99% of not having anyone look at it at all.

True....

Called about the local one and it was sold...

As much as I want one, I think I'll hold off til the new year. Im goin away for a week next weekend, so buying a car now is probably a bloody stupid thing to do !!!, and I do far too many of them with cars lol

I'll resist the temptation for now...just hope Im not passing up a good car.

Thanks, Stevie

Seen that one too...bit rich for me. I'd be wanting to build my own car, rather than work from another project.

There's a nice looking blue on in the Yorkshire area on ebay now.

Its a little closer as far as trailering it home goes.

Why cant people just be honest when you ask them about the condition ?? its not like its hard to spot big holes, or rust patches. Saying they arent qualified to tell...is just plain ignorant.
Im not expecting a mint example, I'd just like an honest, at a glance description of the condition.
