Whilst looking for new bolts for mine I noticed that central main straps vary greatly in price from £7 to £20. Is this a case of some companies can get away with charging more, or do they vary in quality, the obvious thing that springs to mind is the type of steal used. And the obvious follow on question is does it matter what type of steal is used?

Simple answer is yes and no.

You need to get the right sort of material for the job (although I'm sure it's not that critical in this application) and it needs to fit properly too.

I've always bought from Mi-Its as you know. Never been sold a duff anything so even if it's a couple of £s more then at least I know I'm going to be getting a good quality part.

I suggest you do the same mate!

looking at the main bolts for the price of a main strap I'd just bin it to be on the safe side.
