Titan are bringing out a series of oil pumps, a chap at Malvern had a could and they look like a nice bit of kit, definitely designed as opposed just thrown together.

Sounds goods i guess, i can't myself see the point when a standard oil pump works well enough in the first place.

The titan ones Rob and I saw had a dowel fixing the shaft to the pumping element. Most of the standard stuff these days are just an interference on a lightly kurnled shaft, have been know to come loose = no pressure.

I have an ex 1430 which failed on the rollers due to just this failure mode!

Originally the pumps were keyed.

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I think what he's saying Matt is they look like a quality item as opposed to some of the other rather poor ones on the market.

It'd have to be doweled and have big fucking bells hanging off it to make me choose any 'new' pump over the Avonbar one.

The Avonbar one has 'something flow' cast into the pump body, and is the best made pump I've ever seen for an A-series. Even comes oiled in a thick sealed plastic bag.

if it is a powerflow one that avonbar sells, then you could be better of getting it from minispares as they do a powerflow one for £30.49 wereas avonbar sell it for £42.83.
iv just been searching both sites for the same parts and minispares seem to be cheaper for some of the bits and im sure there the same as the avonbar stuff, could be wrong though.

The 'turbo' pumps from MS are complete tosh. I had all manner of 'slow' pickup / pressure building, and pulsing pressure at idle.
Tried absolutely everything. changed to the Avonbar one, every single problem dissapearred instantly.

?????
the pumps "tested" were POWERFLOW ones vs MS vs genuine
avonbar was the source of these pumps at this time ,and hope he still saling these.
It seem that minispares switched to these pumps sometimes after the "oil pump information/dissection" revaled on this board, and certainly they had too much issue with their "top" products.
if I were buying a pump tomorrow I would enquiry from Mr Avonbar instead of M....... mainly because their previous crape s..t super MS advertised in MR ..... articles oil pumps have ruined me a complete 1380 in three days (crank, bearings, cam, pistons.......), a secound one had worn bearings and pump in less than 5 000km ..
Mr avonbar never sold me bad quality parts! (oil pumps , bearings, cams, pistons...

Still can't see why every one is going on about the avon bar one, when a £15 stardard pump protects just as well (tried and tested by me)

stowmaket suffolk

and me mate.

yep mine will be going back in yet again so that will be the third year for it.

all my previous pumps of various designs semed to ware out after a year with low tick oil pressure when hot.

still recon its to do with lager ports on the other types meaning the oil pressure drops when they are slightly worn.

but still il kepp with my £15 one i think

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

Does the bimmer head (or other 16v heads for that matter) seem to have an effect on the amount of oil flow needed?

I'm guessing it won't be a big difference, but i'd also guess 2 cams will leak more oil than a set of rockers.

Not got part number mate, but it was from minispares london, and is just a stardard 1300 non turbo pump. If really need i could try and find part number.
