Don't know if anyone has seen them before?

I can't comment on the quality, but I guess the old adage of 'get what you pay for' could be used. Then again, if you assume that the 'first' retailler makes a 100% markup, then this is probably more than MiniSpares buy them for....

I've noticed that they are stright cut, I was under the impression (from you I think Dave) that semi helical is better for CWP?

Hi

I asked him this:

Q: Hi Is this item sold by any of the larger mini sales places? I only ask because if it is it have been a bit more quality tested, so we know how the quality is like. Your price seem very good!

A: Hi The price is very good because I manufacture these for MiniSpeed (very bad payers). They are well tried and tested for over 4 years in various forms of Mini related motorsport

Its a bit dodgy of minispeed to have JK in their part numbers when it is actually not made by JK (that dont even exist anymore I though...)

I may be interested in a set then...As a 4.57:1 may be a bit exhausting in the new engine...

I think a group buy should be organised here, 15% is quite a bit!

Fastest A Series Mini in the World

leeds/wakefield.

theres no reason why they are not up to the job,
i know for a fact that most retailers have big margins on the stuff you see in the mags,
i once supplied some wheels to a chap who was [in my oppinion] mislead into paying a big premium for a 3.77 as he was told there were the rareast, what bollocks, as i could get my hands on about 30 of them at the time and saved him over £200.00,if only he knew at the time,.
nothing wrong with straight cut. i used a 4.9 for three years and its still perfect,

I'd be up for a group buy on one of these,

I assume he'd do a "group" of different ratios?

So..how noisy will this setup be....

SC drops
SC gearset
and SC diff !!!!!!

Holy feck.....I'm guessing pretty damn noisy !!!!!!!

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

you'll only really hear the drops as the rest are mostly covered in oil.

but is that a problem? Its a nice noise!

I ran with sc gears and drops with std diff then changed to semi helical lsd. The semi helical is louder than all the rest put together.
Youre right though it IS a nice noise.

I did quite like my Tran-X SC gears...but I havent heard a full setup !!!!

Never thought about the immersed in oil bit...

So would an oil jet squirting at the primary/idler mating point help quieten them down a little ??

The oil feed for my blower, is just a very small jet, aimed at the 2 internal ( straight cut ) gears where they meet. I didnt measure, but I'd be surprised if its even 1.5mm.

Was talking with Open Classic about this on sunday. Someting like a none pressurised return would probably be ok (maybe not straight from a turbo .. :) ). Not sure how the poor seal on the primary would cope against a jet though.

Given the position of the oil pump what about a small bleed of from before the relief vavle or maybe re-routing the drain from the relief valve???

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

another possibility might be re-routing one of the return paths from the head but you would have be careful about drain rates etc.

I dont mind organising it, but as per the Quaife group buy, some ground rules would have to be set out first.

Ill contact him today and see if he will do a batch of mixed ratios as Im certain we wont all want a 4.57:1

Righto, spoke to the guy just now, he would like to know what ratios we want, as some he might have, and some he might not.

If we could repost the list with the ratios next to our names, that would be triffic
