Im just trying to work out which way up the standard metro turbo exchause clamp goes up, i had a modified one before not had a standard one.

Does it go with the larger hole to the top or the bottom?

just trying to work it out so i weld the right bolt to the right hole, thankyou :)

Which way you put it on doesn't affect which bolts to weld at all does it?

When you think about it feebs, what is the reason for modifying the clamp? Bigger exhaust elbow externally?

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Larger opening onto the turbo elbow, smaller opening onto downpipe. Personally I welded BOTH the bolts onto mine, it means you only need to get one spanner down the back of the engine. To get the first half of the clamp located (part with the bolts on) I put it in place on the flange with the bolts facing the turbo , then rotate it clockwise by about 200 degrees so the bolts end up pointing roughly in the direction of the clutch master cylinder. If you use a bit of firegum gunge on the clamp you will be able to let go of it at this point and it will stay in place provided the downpipe is supported on a jack underneath. Gently slide the second half of the clamp over the bolts, fit the nuts and with a small ratchet you can nip up the nuts. All with one hand and one spanner / ratchet, hey presto!
