Anybody removed the Edis modual from a Mundano????? I have been down to the breakers today and came away with 2 crank sensors, 2 coil packs, 2 loom sections and 1 EDIS unit.

I managed to get full set of a Zetec 'scort but couldn't find the EDIS on the rep mobile for love nor money. My better half spent as long looking around the car as it took me to remove everything from the 'scort and couldn't find it. I spent about 15 mins following the wiring and came to the conclusion it was behind the dash somewhere on the drivers side but I was very fed up and covered in blood and oil as the 'scort was basically in a lake of shite so gave up.

As Mundos are more common in my local breakers (and much easier to get the crank sensor off with everything else in place) I would love to know where the bitch is located!!!

BTW before anybody says "just get them off Ebay" can I point out that I got the parts listed above for £10 and it would ahve been the same with two EDIS units as the yard are of the opinion it's the coil pack that has value!

Cheers in advance

On the escorts they're down the back and a pig to get to, your best bet is a Fester.

Right, that explains that then!!!!!

Festers ...... I've NEVER seen an EDIS equiped fester in my local breakers. Had assumed they must only be on some special editions so were being broken by specialists!!!!!

I have to disagree about the 'scort Rob. I managed to get the whole system out, with out cutting any of the loom associated with it, in 10 mins. Most of that was wondering how the feck I was going to get to the crank sensor before giving up and pulling a sensor from a Mundano. Unfortunately they have a different connection in the loom so I am, at some point going to have to make a junction which I was trying to avoid.

Oh well .... best order some screened cable I guess :(

Cheers Robert.

I am looking for a super quick build and trying to avoid making up anything unneccessary so was after a Fraud sensor so I can use one of Toms mounts, off the shelf so to speak.

Anything that holds up this build, holds up my kit car (which I NEED for track days this year ...... passenger rides just aren't the same) and ultimately holds up my Mini (currently rusting slowly in storage) and really looking forward to that. K head with a turbo like Jimster has done but more for the road so not as extreme in terms of either the car or expected power delivery.

I have to leave that till last or else I'll be too busy playing to build anything!!

As already said the EDIS is not found on most mondeos, only the automatics and I think some of the early V6 (but this is an EDIS6 not an EIDS4)

The best place us 1.6i escorts and orions and late Mk3 fiestas. Although be careful as lots of fiestas have the early EDIS4 with the vaccum pipe which you don't want.
