I went to visit my folks over the weekend and not only had my carb rebuild kit arrived (thanks Iain) but my Mum was away which meant I could rebuild the carb in the warmth of the kitchen rather than the workshop which is rather cold this time of year, anyway I digress.

My turbo carb don't have a screw there just a plug.

The bi-metallic strip in the float bowl acts a bit like a choke too i think, lowering the jet when cold or is that bs? |

Just checked 2 turbo carbs, both have this hole plugged:
