Should I connect the inlet manifold cooling/heating pipes to the cooling system or not? I've seen a lot of pictures with the pipes cut off/not in use.

In my opinion connecting them up only heats the manifold (and thus heat the inlet charge) instead of cool it.

Of course the turbo is producing a lot of heat and sits underneath the inlet so it might be useful in the end.

Don't know what's best. Please help!

Yes conecting it up will heat the manifold (obviously to the temp of the coolant), it initially being intended to improve economy on NA cars by preventing fuel from dropping out of the inlet charge I believe. I guess it's not as useful anyway with the heat from the turbo underneath.

I like nice quiet girly Minis

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

The heating is there as BL obviously thought the cars would spend most of their time running around town off boost, probably correctly!

Of no use to use, even for a pure daily driver, leave them off.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

If I am correct, the Netherlands is no colder than the UK?

I personally haven't bothered plumbing them in.

If you think about the inlet charge temps you'll be seeing with no intercooler fitted, is it not a possibility that plumbing up the water connections will actually cool the manifold to some degree ?
