Windows update has just popped up and asked me to install Internet Explorer 7 as an update, I currently have IE6.

Should I let it update it or is it a load of grief and doesn't work properly?

Please none of the "install firefox" comments, I am happy with Internet Explorer it fulfulls my simple computer needs well enough.........

Use firefox, or i'll stab you on saturday. *wink*

IE7 is better than 6 functionally, but its slow and still buggy. IE6 is really awful too, so its like comparing two different turds - largely pointless

May just be coincidence, i installed IE7 last friday on a 3 week old laptop and within an hour or so of installing it my hard drive decided to destroy itself :-S

I installed it last week.

No problems so far. Just have to get used to different buttons.

My eldest lad is an IT techie and has been using it for several months without problems.

yes when there is a very new product out i always wait a while for them to sort out any problems first, as they normaly put programmes out well before all the bugs have gone.

Well I was having problems with some HTML code in IE6.(it works as expected in Firefox) So I updated to IE7 to see if it was better. Guess what, it is even worse.

So now I am bact to the start and have to learn how IE7 works with the code I am writing, arse.

I earn a wage as a computer analyst, I have it and its fine for every day use, they will offer you a patch if the bugs get to be a big problem.
