OT weather insurance claim advice

last weekend was bad regarding storms up and down the country

having consulted the bracknal weather centre, it stated that storm force weather will prevail in yorkshire and sure enough the storms came & was rather bad

having said that my friend would like to put an insurance claim in for new gutterings which was blown off and damaged in this storm (cough):$

question is ..... most insurance companys like to snake out of paying up

the work has been done and put right
do you think he is on a winner to place a claim in ?? and get paid out ??

can any one see any pitfalls

I have just put a claim in for some tiles which were blown off. My insurers seemed very approachable, asked for a photo to prove the damage and asked me to get a local company to uote for the repair.

I don't think I'm going to have much problem.

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

his problem is that he's already had it repaired, , he could try contacting them and making a claim, they may just ask for a quote without viewing, in which case its a winner,if they wanr t to view, hes going to have to argue he had it repaired for safety reasons,
