looking through ebay noticed quite a few mini v5s for sale. this is worrying me as ive heard of a few thefts of minis. i dont know if its illegal to sell a v5 but i know it is illegal not to notify dvla if you scrap a car.

and both my minis dont have chassis numbers stamped in the shell. YET!! so itd be very easy to change its id.

to be honest i dont really have a problem with people buying them and (cough cough) reshelling a tax exempt car, if you know what i mean.

but surely something needs to be done. also noticed motorbike frames and v5s.

any suggestions guys?

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Shropshire.

like this.. 'memorabilia'

I don’t see the problem if they are used as a re-shell, And you but the ‘car’ legitimately, changing owners etc.

but i agree it would be very easy to change an ID of a mini if the chassis numbers were missing.. Might be wrong but not allot that can be done, just make sure that ours are showing the ID
