Engines all in and running well! Just at 4psi for now ill put it up to standard boost when ive done a bit of milage on it and know its ok.

Still got some tidying up to do and finishing off but im really happy with it, so much more practical than the 1040 turbo was for what i need.

It made it to work this morning on its first run without any smoke or nasty noises. I was just wondering, because its an old engine is the slick50 engine protection stuff any good?

I see no IC .........

Glad to see you got it all together mate. They are suprisingly good fun in standard trim aren't they.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Oh yeah, should be fine upto standard boost if you use a decent fuel such as V-power.

I just drove a standard mety twerb, a guy from work has one, and it was a nice reminder ... works even better in a Mini.

thankyou benross!!

The 1040turbo was fun but thirsty!! it was a 2nd hand block and one of the piston rings was damaged i think, well for some reason there was a bit of play in one of the pistons. it was fine at first but started smoking i think the turbo made it worse. Not taken the head off it yet to see but will be doing soon.

I ran it without the turbo and with a few doses of wynns stop smoke and used it for a few months.

Also, i much preffer T3 turbos ive decided! the spooling noise is so much nicer and louder! and i love the way the boost comes in, and the passengers think they're going into "fast forward" as someone said the other day! haha
