Does anyone on here use this on their cars?
The reason being is the paint on my car is fairly thin and I want some way to protect it well against stone chips and inconsiderate people in car parks!

Something such as this

If you do not recommend using these then what about any decent waxes that you use?

I also read at the weekend that the Institute of Advanced Motorists recommended using WD40 on your tyres over the winter months, any on here do this and does it make a difference.
In theory it should work but does WD40 react with tyre compounds at all in a bad way?

Thanks

I dont see how adding a lubricant onto your tyres can be a good idea..

I thought the 40 came from the fact it was the 40th formulation they tried.

Not sure about any facts on wd40 and rubber other than it makes it slippy!

heres a top product to help keep corrosion at bay or from starting - most useful for mini owners. Its as good as the PR blumph.

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

i think the point is that it forms a barrier over the tyre,i use it in the same fashion with engine components (applying every 2 weeks) when im doing engine builds.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

The paint protection films work really well. I run an auto detailing (auto valeting to uk folks?) business here in CA and I have this product installed on most of my high end customer cars. It's quite effective in keeping road debris from chipping the paint.

The down side is that the film isn't quite as glossy as the paint it is protecting. The paint being covered by the film seems a bit dull when compared to uncovered paint. Also, when exposed to lots of sunlight, these films tend to yellow a little. I doubt you guys get enough sun to make that happen!

If you get it, don't try to install it yourself. It's rather tricky to get it on the paint without wrinkling and without air bubbles....similar to window tinting.
