if fitting a different engine like say for instance a toyota starlet turbo engine would you be able to use megasquirt to run it, would it be able to use the toyota sensors, i know the crank sesor would need changing.
no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

No reason why not Thats why Megasquirt is so popular Why wold you need to change the crank sensor? thought megasquirt needed a 36-1 type sensor like megajolt? no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

edis needs the 36-1, you wont be using edis with the starlet i imagine.. "Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun"

As i understand - all it needs is a pulse - wether off a single, twin or individual coil system... On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

Megasquirt will be fine with the whole Toyota set up except the coil, that is no problem as there are plenty of others. I can't remember why the toyota coil is a problem but I know it is ...... certainly the one of the 4AGE motor. On my kit I have a Ford coil pack but all other sensors are Toyota. Had problems with the throttle pot (alpha N running) but it is an easy swap or a balast resisitor to put the base resistance in the window for megasquirt will get it running. Every day is a school day ...........

MSI can fire the edis coilpack directly aswell with the same modifications required to make it work with msII. tis what im running on my mini. Tho will be swapping to the MSII -extra codes when they mature a bit more!
