how safe is paypal, only asking as my visa card has been hit 3 times now, in london at same shop over 3months, fraud squad involved, once in luxenburgh, wife now keeps a sharp eye on it now, even bought a shreader now to distroy old mail, invoices, so how safe is paypal

I had my Visa card skimmed in a petrol station when I lived in hell-hole central (London).

Paypal seems to be fairly safe though and I don't like having card details on line.
When I moved house I forgot to change my recorded PayPal address and when I needed to register a card it took 6 weeks to phone calls and form filling to get it done!!!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I use paypal straight out of my bank account for the last 6 or so years never had a problem............except the dodgy emails you get trying to knick your user name and passwowd.
I always access my paypal through e bay

i am thinking of opening paypal acount, but being a numpty on a pc, no to confident

I use paypal to send and receive funds. Never had any trouble when making payments.

Only ever had one problem when receiving money. A guy in belgium told his credit card company he had received the item. Paypal took back the money. i supplied all the details they required, i'd sent it by a tracked courier service and the guy had signed for it himself. So i thought it would be easy for paypal to refute the claim. Paypal said there was insufficent evidence to argue against his claim!!!!! During one phone call with paypal i was told this guy had done the same on 3 other people and was being investigated and not to worry. The next i heard was case closed, no evidence, no money back ! Took me about 2-3 months of hassle to get my money back from this swindler, eventually paypal sent me a short auto email saying case won, no explanation, but money back, so happy days!

On the whole i'd say don't worry about paypal, its pretty good in my book.

Just make sure you keep your computer safe from virus and spyware. This is real important for anyone who types in any sensitive details online, at any site.

I use AVG antivirus, its free for home use and has found viruses that mcfee on hotmail had said were clear.

For malware i use spyware blaster and adaware.
