I don't want to get into this, for one I believe petitions to be a massive waste of time, but mainly because something has to be done and with this proposal at least the govenment are being brave and PROPOSING (that is all it is) something radical to try and solve the problem. If something like this can make people think twice before driving their children to school, using the car to go to the corner shop or going to work round the corner then it can only be a good thing. The proposal aims to keep the average driver paying the same and taxing the big users and those who use the roads at peak times in busy areas.

well ben we could disscuss this for ever and a day. and i do agree something should be done, BUT, from MY personal point of view is that i live in liverpool and work in manchester (35 miles one way) ill be honest in saying im only a mere mechanic and aint on alot of money, especially compared to most comuters. i travel that far as its a good, job with ok money for the trade and i like working there. now if a milage charge comes into force id almost surely have to get a new job in liverpool ( which wouldnt be a problem, but ive never found one thats pays the same as the one ive got now) so basically id have to make big cut backs, but mr rep or finance manager etc who comutes could afford to pay more, i dont think thats fare. i know its just little old me but it seems what ever comes into force just effects the lower end of the working class.
Edited by Carl on 16th Dec, 2006. no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
