hi

iv done a search and think i understand whats needed but just need to make a few things clearer...

i have minispares 4 alloy pots for 10" wheels, with standerd 8.4 discs ground down to 7.5.

what i plan on doing is fitting some vented metro discs for when i put the turbo in to improve it all a bit!!

am i correct in thinking i need the following bits:

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=36942
is that for 2 or just 1??

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=34034

are these worth it or is it not worth it after there ground down to 7.5"
http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=33487

if i do the following will it all still fit ok under my 6x10 J wheels?
is there anything else i will need?

sorry for the long post

merry xmas!!

josh

To be honest you realy do not need vented.....

I have never boiled up my 7.5 solid discs on a trackday, maye on all out racing you may need vented but only maybe.

i would just get the adapter from minispeed to convert 4 pot alloy non vented calipers to vented ones

i have this kit on mine, but see in the vented caliper kit you have the spacers that go in the middle of the caliper to space out the 2 sides but you also have 4 spacer washes, i did not use these and do not know where they go, my disc sits in the middle of the caliper and the pistons sit out from the caliper the same amount each side so the caliper does not need to be spaced inwards at all.

anyone got ideas on this?

i used these under the bolt head so the 'soft' alloy caliper body isnt damaged by the cap head:

you can see here the difference between the vented and non vented alloy calipers (just a spacer):

and the required, thinner, vented flange to pull the fatter disc out a little more:

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

i believe those spacers you talk about are theyre for when non vented set ups are used to get it central on the disc

possibly, but but i dont remember using them?

maybe they could be used for people running vented discs, but non vented drive flanges?

er....head hurts

I can't get any decent brakes under my reverse rims without silly wheel spacers.

i use alloy 4 pots with vented discs on standard hubs with no spacers. they are dead central and fit nicely under my 10" rims

HHHm interesting,
i do not have a vented flange i have a thick flange, see pics, very crap with phone camera, maybe the spacer is for under the bolt head.
my calipers are central to the disc

and with manbas i needed an 8mm spacer to fit them over the caliper nipple, if i remove the nipple i do not even need a spacer but i have not brakes he he.
i think the mini sport 4 pots have nipples in different spots.

anyone got a pics of the mini sport ones?
