well the idea is that the rod end can be raised / lowered to get rid of the bump steer,

nice idea but i wont be paying that for a bit of steel!

on the same lines has any one seen the add in one of mags for steering arms tha "lighten" the steering effort...

TBH they |"may" reduce bump steer

after all standard track rod ends are a shade feeble under FULL! race conditions

its the rack which is the weak link after that

i mean under high stress conditions.

but if peeps have the money ?

I've never had a problem with the bog standard track rod ends, even with extreme abuse during autograss racing.

However that kit looks like it is moving in the right direction to lower the working arc of the steering arm to alter the bump steer characteristic.
I have seen neater solutions also, and most certainly cheaper solutions.

Wouldnt have thought that the track boys had problems with these to justify the price tag

The off road guys however may see a benefit.

But

As you say Mr Benross Its the rack thats the big issue. Any one remember the BMH ST rack from 1996 *tongue*

Also, whats wrong with using a standard female spherical rod end with the spacers and a nut and bolt??? Seen that done.

Not being an expert in these things but I would have thought the rose joint wants spacing up a long way from where it is and not that far down down???

"these are used by many racing champions in mini miglia and mini 7"

I understand that to be correct btw...

I don't like any arm that does what this does, but at least this has a thick section about the body to reduce the twisting moment from the very offset rod-end. If you tried that on a stock arm, you'll see quite a bit ot twist I'd have thought?

oh i get it now,

this arm is straight with a long spacer to put the joint where it needs to be (ish) where as the std arm has a kink in it.

in this case this arm may not limit the travel, but i have heard that a std arm with a rod end on it binds.
