ive got some halfords stuff in a black squyeezy bottle wiht a red lid, i bought it to do a friends 998 mini exhaust one, he had a big gash in his head so i put a bit in aswell as a new gasket and it worked.

When i put the gaskets back together with the gaskets and things, do you also put a layer of this paste on then too?do you put it on both sides of the gasket or something?

Halfords 'blue' sealant is crap! It looks like hylomar, but turns to brittle glass like substance in contact with oil!

As regards using it on a plenum - as with all sealers, the key is to use as little as possible. I put a few blobs on, then with my finger, 'tap and dot' the stuff over the gasket face. This creates a dimpled effect and is highly effective.
Remember that if you put too much on, when you clamp it together it will oooooze out and go inside and outside the carb!

just use gaskets....

the goo isnt great for this application imo, to easy to get it oozing out and blocking up the carb etc!
