Things like this happen when your not only rushing to build an engine, but a whole car also*oh well*



I new about the metal ring around the breather outlet on the timing chain cover when fitting the duplex set up and measured everything to see whether i needed to remove it or not. I didnt have to remove it with the standard cast type duplex gears. What i didnt also realise, was thet there is a bulge at the bottom of the cover, where the factory fit their crank sensor when they're setting the engine up at the factory. I never heard anything rubbing or catching.

Now i have an oil leak thats been progressively getting worse, the reason for pulling it apart.

Im not convinced this is the main leak though. The only other thing i think it may be is the oil seal. I got one of those useless Minispares cap head bolts for the crank pulley. This came loose and the pully was rattling fack and forth a fraction. How long it'd been like this i dont know. Fixed that with a little loctite, but it still leaked oil. Upon inspecting the parts, the woodruf key is worn, obviously by the loose pulley.

Im sure it either or these thats causing the leak as its deffo from the pully area. Theres oil on the bonnet, the rad, the fan, the alternator.

Just one of them things, it was fine for a good while, then it just started to leak. I think it all started when the pulley worked loose.
