Hi have a problem with petrol smell in car its worse when let standing eg when coming to it in an morning. The smell seemed to becoming from the back. So i changed the tank, put a big brever on and kept the old one as well, gasket glued the rub gaket round the fuel pump, and also i brought some bonding silcon and did all the places you can think aswell as round the cap so it shouldn't be coming in. Though i haven't sloved the problem you can't smell petrol the same as you could special while driving has got alot better. I did the conversion from spi and kept the fuel lines i was wondering is this anyway anything to do with it. Any ideas greatiful cos i'm running out them fast.

Check the bottom of the carb, the rubber seal goes rock hard(especially if no heat sheid) and leaks straight onto the exhaust

try spraying all joints your worried about with a can of gloss paint ,just a light coat , then look at it in the morn ,if its leaking then youll see the paint crackling bubbling up .
