On the throttle valve on my carb there is a spring and spiggot. Just wonding what is it and what does it do? Does it affect performance of the engine? Back once again like a renegade master |

most people will advise you to swap it for a solid butterfly disc and get a dump valve. "Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun"

It'll open really slowly, giving a nice whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh instead of a WHOOOOSH. IIRC on all cars it helps prevent over run, also I think it helps prevent turbo stall. If your engine is set-up properly and looked after over run shouldn't be an issue, and if you've got a DV turbo stall shouldn't be an issue either, so you might as well go for a solid disk as the valve impedes the air flow in the carb.
