ok while my quest continues ie saving up for some nice pistons (IT 8NT GONNA HAPPEN), i have 4 or 5 built n/a blocks lying around all in good nick. can these be used safely with a turbo ? what is max boost that can be safely run, with turbo head using 28cc chambers and a 4wd cosworth intercooler. and what is the average CR when using N/A pistons ?

i've been using N/A pistons in mine for 2 years, mine are the 21253's with 11cc machined into em. I think Nic was running them before he went all bling aswell On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

Omegas for instance are totally similar when it comes to turbo or N/A. The only difference is the size of the dish.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

i think another thing that deff comes into it is heat soak , if you can keep on the throttle for a few mins at max boost without backing off ,thats quite likely to melt something , but the likelyhood of that is rare , so the typical on off type usage a high boost mini gets gives a window of usage you wouldnt have if it was a heavy car with a greater need for long on throttle situations . Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM |

I think Nic was running them before he went all bling aswell yeah i was (i only changed them due to an unfortunate incident that allowed me a cheap upgrade), i ran 16psi on them, accidently ran 22psi once id pop them in and get it running, im sure you'll be ok on them once you get it all ok, if your feeling really keen and flush then you could upgrade to some other 'bling' jobbies |

had a look at em today, i have a clean set on rods, i have just had me crank pollished and have new shells etc etc. I am right in thinking i can use the rods with the pistons and just put em in with me new shells, or will i need to use the origional rods from me turbo ? they are both the same component ?

the 73.5mm powermax's look like they might be good, the top ring is a good way down. On 28th Aug, 2011 Kean said:
