Got loads of spare mini ones, but need a longer metro one.

Cut up a mini one and weld a section in to extend it to the right metro length, thats the only difference.

thqats a good idea in practice Tom, but if you do that you must keep the two holes in exactly the same plane or you will struggle selecting the cogs,

Yeah, thought had crossed my mind, but to be honest, being a lazy arse, Id rather just find a 2nd hand one and bolt it on....:)
