in need of some new pistons am on tight budget atm due to various other funds needed. i came across slipper pistons and they seem really cheap for a set. y is this it says u can get 8.8 CR ones. my only guess is the piston is shirter but that would mean they wopuldnt be able to take the turbo. is that right. any help. just a long shot

The 201251 pistons should be ok, the reason they have a lower compression is because they are 'shorter'. The crown of the piston sits lower in the block, if its a standard, unmachined block.

A certain engine builder says he uses these in turbo engines and they seem to have been reliable, fair doos. But in my opinion if its an all out power muncher, they are not best suited For a number of reasons.

If its a budget build and your not on mission for power, they 'should' be ok.

And before anyone says the 201251 pistons are made of chocolate, they're not. The are exactly the same pistons as the 201253 but with a shorter compression hight!!!!

Also worth noting the other thread regarding the Minisport pistons. They seem very much similar.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
