finally got my head today, got it home and started painting it up and realised that it hasn't been feckin drilled for 11 studs, my blocks already drilled and through into the water gallery on number 1 side so i've got to drill the head myself now and fit the stud.

12.5mm drill bit springs to mind. Give me a few mins and I'll wander out to the garage and measure.

Use a head gasket as a template,the holes should be quite a bit bigger than the studs,look at the size of the outer holes on a 9 stud head

start off with say a 4mm pilot drill then to say.... a 8mm and so on ....

yup, just been out measuring, my 10mm drill bit is a bit too small so i was going to use 11mm.

should be fine .... might have fun getting the holes perpendicular to the gasket face .....

My old man has a proper large pillar drill he'd probably let you use for 10 mins, he is based near Redditch.

cheers for the offer Tom, but Karl's stepped in to lend a hand again. He's going to run it into his work in the morning and drill it for me. i just didn't fancy ruining a few hundred quids worth of head with a nutool drill.
