Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

i ran optimax and castrol additive with added octane booster. There are 2 different ones, just thought the one with octane booster should be a benefit!

Might see what av gas does though....

Castrol valvemaster is the stuff i was thinking of!

Ha Ha Ha, who told you that? No, LPG is around 95, definatley not 108!

Avgas that is generally available is around 100 octane. I think there were higher octane types about but they're hard to get hold of now.

higher octane fuels don't directly give you more power, they simply give you the abilty of running more boost before det sets in.

So, higher effective CR=greater thermal efficiency=more power.

Tetraboost is the stuff you want, You can make your own avgas. Sadly, premium has Benzene added to it (in part) which increases the octane of the fuel by a few points, catch is that it kills your lead response. So, in order to make a avgas, you need Tetraboost (Lead) along with petrol containing no Benzene. LRP used to be good but that horrible filth they put in it was not worth bothering with. I personally will try and stick to stuff running valvemaster with 98 premium. Avgas might be worth a look, especially as it should have no road duty, but will be pricey to start. Avgas used to be available in 160 octane whichy used 4% TEL they backed this off to about 0.7% I believe which gives you about 100 (depending on what they were using as stock). You could try adding tetraboost to it. There are all sorts of ways of getting better fuel including paint stripper, acetone, etc, etc.

If anyone's really interested in the ins and outs of fuels/leading/additives, give me a shout. stu

Bugger off, I'm getting there.
