hi, im in need of a rebore. do we get morespeed discount as i think i read it soemwhere? does anyone know any other places that can do it for cheaper locally to me. Berkshire.

Also i will be needing some new pistons and what to get more dished ones.

has anyone used the omega cast pistons and do they do them in a bigger dish. will they be suitable. im not after silly amounts of boost atm. just more than standard. about 12 to 14psi pushing it. they look fairly reasonable in price compared to the forged pistons as i cannot afford that amount of money at present. cheers

I run cast 11cc dished omegas and run 15psi with 8.3-1 compression ratio and not had an issue with them.

so what are standard size turbo pistons then. basically i need to rebore my engine out which i am planning on goin 40. and i will be asking benross to do my head work for me and im after a set of pistons which will take hopefully a bar of boost. what would you guys use as i cant afford spangly new forged ones. which would be the answer if money wasnt an issue.

many thanks.

I beleive the 13 cc 21253's are the pistons as used in most High compression 1275 mini engines but morspeed has opened up the dish to allow them to be used on turbo applications. The Mega 13ccs are made from Minispares mega 6cc pistons again machined out to get a lower compression ratio

Its generally accepted that the megas (and omegas) are a bit stronger but many are using the 21253's with no problems, I'm not sure what boost levels they use

I estimated 8.5 CR with a standard 21.5 cc head on the Megas but the 21253's have higher crown height so the CR will be higher, about 9.0 CR But check that with Morspeed...

In fact I have just ordered some 13cc Megas from Morspeed, I'll post pictures when they arrive in a week or two.

The mega's are bloody strong pistons, that are available seperately, always available, and have decent ring sets, which are always available, and I'll need a lot of convincing to run anything else given the low cost....

i am getting 21253 pistons dished by morspeed as well as some other work done but have been waiting 10 months for the parts so if you are in a rush for the parts you may want to shop elsewhere.

If the parts are on the shelf you may get them faster but if he needs to machine them you may be in with a long wait. Ive been told he's busy with old school ford motors just now but when im told every time i contact him my parts are finished ready to post out and i wait..... and wait......and wait....

I wanted my turbo engine built to fit in my mini once the shell was ready but now looks like my 998 is going back in until i get the parts to build the engine.
