Well my standard elise went down the 1/4 mile in 14.4 seconds. I think if you look at some of the 150bhp turbo minis from last years show down they were similar times IIRC. So similar to an Elise.

In my old standard 200sx I could not get it faster than 16secs. So a 150bhp mini will be a good match for most hot hatches I reckon.

There will always be someone out there faster. I had a run in with an ignorant so-and-so in a Xantia Executive and I was in the RS Clio. He was tailgating me so I put the foot down (I'm not a street racer but I hate pushy people!) and he held on rightly. Turned out he has a sneaky twin turbo setup under the bonnet!

Not so long ago I pushed a TVR chimera up to about 80, and had a humourous inccident with a bi-turbo 3.5 v8 maserati .... which was nice

My son has a 1.9 gti he kept boasting how he was going to thrash the old man in the mini

WELL..... after several months of taunting i threw down the gauntlet! so we lined up on a private!! Bypass of course

about 3/4 of a mile long up a slight incline

he got about two car lengths in front till........ the blower and cam came in,

i destroyed him beyond belief by ......... wait for it OVER….. “half the Private bypass” *laughing**laughing*

he was totally gutted *blush**blush*

i stated that he may has well been in a milk float, the gap was so wide!

all i remembered was a pair of headlights getting rapidly smaller in my rear view mirror *laughing*

i told him i would have been quicker if i could have got it in top gear!....lol

He never bothered again *laughing* and that was only a 1275cc engine with some! bits attached then

I remember the first time i ever sat in the passangers seat of "giallofly" mini many moons ago. Didnt race anything but didnt have to to know it would beat most things on the road *surprised*

well that the thing the fastest mini iv been in propoly was a swiftune 1380 with big valve head, port polished, 286 cam etc.
i thought that was very fast.
iv been in a turbo (bananaman from here) but it was wet and just spun the wheels etc
i would wnt to be a passenger in someones turbo mini but evey1 seems to live miles away!

Wasted an old 911 on the St Ives/Sennen road in Kernow with my old 64 he was catching me on the straights but I lost him into the corners and around them, having said, I did know that car exactly and probably drove it like it had 30hp more than it had....... that was a waste of tyres but satisfying in an ego way.

I'd say depends how you drive it, where your powerband and gears are, what FD and allsorts.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

my sons motor had an over bore not sure what size ?

he claimed over the standard bhp

Yea!!
the difference was massive!!!

my spec at the time moded head race valves standard bore and pistons done 64k

crap intercooler phase 2 cam standard T3 smoking seals gone and minspares clubman gear set 2.95 FD on 13s

all the rest was standard

boost 14 psi

Undoubtedly gialloflys mini is the fastest *happy*
and his metro takes all the chequerd flags *happy*
