i really struggled last night getting the front hubs back onto the metro, is there a secret way to do it??

I got the bottom ball joint in, then just cant get the top arm to raise high enough to get the top ball joint in. Ive tried jacking up the top arm but i didnt want to force it too much, is that how you do it? The haynes is rubbish again!

Yeah, when you pull it apart jack the car up underneath the bottom ball joint,Remove the rubber bump stop from under the top arm and put a bit of metal(socket etc) in place of the rubber bit.Take jack back out.
This holds the suspension compressed so you can get the hubs on and off

How do the metro hubs differ from mini ones then?

I know the ball joints are slightly different and the steering arms are a different length, but are the ball joints further apart?

I assume your fitting the metro hubs to a metro ..... will upset the front geometry if used on a Mini

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...
