Just build up a normal 1275 block with some decent pistons and get a head modded. All you then need is the manifolds, turbo, carb and plenum. All of these are readily available on ebay or the for sale section here.

That's pretty much what I'm doing, I'm using an NA MG Metro engine as a base and got the carb, plenum, manifold, MPi tank and T2 off ebay and regulator, oil feed/return from elsewhere. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

Yes but the standard metro lump didnt have uprated internals. I just wouldlike an engine which only needs some parts. Back once again like a renegade master |

Intercooler, desire not to run too much boost on the standard pistons ...... 10psi should be ok though and will go well enough! Every day is a school day ...........

Avonbar offer a nice 1380 short block self build kit which comes in at a reasonable £816.32 exhange which is a nice shortcut. It's doesn't have the centre main strap or ARP's but that could arraged or could be done yourself. Morespeed offer a similar 1293 for £700, both companies have a good rep. To be honest with prepping your own block and buying all the bits yourself would nearly cost the same. All you would need ontop of this is a head, box, carb, manifold, plemum, IC and pipes, exhaust manifold, turbo, oil feed/return, fuel pump and modded tank, regulator and a few other fiddlies.
