I have just been given the oportunity to buy a second hand fully working (driven the car etc) Spec

Jack Knight SCCR four Synchro A plus box.
Jack Knight type 6 (?)
LSD with uprated output shafts (10 spline?)
Jack Knight Straight cut 3.9:1 CWP
Central oil pick up

What do you think especialy as Jack Knight appear to be having finnancial issues at the minute?

theyre will still be plenty of JK bits kicking around second hand for the next few years

syncromesh's and bearings are just standard things

so as long as its cheap id snap it up

Jack Knight have no bits and no factory! I tried to buy off them a few months back. You can bet the box will need a second gear (worn syncro) - avoid like the plague - do trannex/minispares do a kit?

Type 6 diff is that cam and pawl? Not nice for the road and an acquired art for the track.

How much for the lot?

i agree with alex...

jk has such a massive name that someone will open up production under that name again. tranx sc drops are 200, jk are around 400. just trading on the name someone would make a fortune for themselves, the gears never break....not even shit ones!

Worth knowing - didn't know that thought trannex/MS were different to JK as that is the case with transfer gears - was at NEC yesterday on quaife stand and they said they are getting loads of enquiries. They had their/swiftune's dog box on display.

leeds/wakefield.

following a recent teephone conversation i ahd with someone at quaife i must say that i'd rather file my own gear set from a chunk of steel that give any of my hard earned to them.
