Does the crank pulley have to have a damper on it????

Im hoping to switch to Toothed Belt Drive and was going to turn a pulley out on the lathe! Obviously it wont have a damper, does anyone think this would cause problems??

I was looking to make something similair to this

Ive looked into this a lot.
Swiftune dont put dampers on their Miglia engines, BUT, they do stress that they are very important.
I get on very well with Nick Swift and get a lot of support from him. He says he wouldnt run my engine without one.

I seriously doubt it!

On a race engine you get around it by rebuilding the motor every other week.

On a road engine the damper is vital IMHO.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...
