Hi all

After not receiving my subscription this month I rang the publishers to quiz the matter...

Turns out Retro Cars Magazine is no longer being printed now *frown*

Damn shame, it some great odd-ball cars were featured, and this years Retro and Classic cars show was a great day out too!

Tim

p.s apologies if this has already been pointed out, i did do a search first...

I thought it had...

I didn't take out a subscription 5 months back as the mag was getting thinner and thinner which means only one thing!

J tuner as well?

why have they closed? was it to do with the move to the new publisher?
I liked retro cars, it started off great, but as of last year it was getting worse and worse so that i stopped buying it

The boring bloke who runs this place.

Berkshire

The show is being run by Santa Pod now, and is just 'Retro Day' not C.A.R.S.

Its good to know the show will continue under the management of Santa Pod, this years C.A.R.S was my favourite of the show season :)

Well Nic i believe. that as future publishing is a massive company, that they just had a clear out of the mag that weren't maybe making them as much money as the rest of the fleet, as there are so many over heads at future they need to make a big profit to cover it all.

To add another one to the list is Total BMW.

Shame to see such a good read disappear, but at least there's still PPC. I've read that ever since the pilot mag "RPM" that came free with Practical Classics

i HATE ppc

All it ever is, is some whining winge bag fitting throttle bodies and brakes to his crapi

I did subscribe but didnt renew it as it was the same thing over and over again and very few projects ever seem to finish.

i.e. i bought issue 2, and in those early issues a new set of brakes were being fitted to the crapi, he must of changed his mind on the set several times over the year. I bought it when jim was in there and yet again another set of brakes were going on the car

nothing in there seems to be of interest to me

I'm with Slater, it's the only one I'll by with my own money rather than take a quick read in WHSmiths. Only buy the Mini Mag once every six months or so to make sure I have upto date numbers and a reasonably idea of what is available.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

stowmaket suffolk

ive found that in all mags ive bought in the past like, sea angler, practical photo, mini mag/world ect.

they all after a year start to repeat themselfs with the odd different feature.

i just browse now, like the rest of the uk, the mags have only got them selves to blame but good and different content in the you will sell mags not the usal dross.

i know in alot of car mags most car feature have no real story behind them because the bloke or women who ownes it just got some one to do the work and the part with dosh and hey presto a bling car with a big ice pack in the boot.

admittly most on here do the most work themselves which i think always makes a better story, at least they can say well i ported the head, built the engine and box ect.

thats my bit any way.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

Cummon Nic, your cynicism seems ideal for reading such a mag. I can see what your getting at about the never ending stories, but it seems like real life to me. I bought some new ARB bushes for my Subaru 4 months ago and only just fitted them.

And how many of us have bought several turbos before fitting one?

I love PPC, although they regulary talk bollocks.
