TM discount? Didn't know that. I'm paying £315 with an NA 1275 through them and I'm 26 (only 1 year NCB though and considering where I live...). They said £900 when the turbo goes in and I have 2 years NCB. So your getting a good deal!

I hadn't bothered getting an insurance quote for a turbo mini age 19, thought there was no point. I think my plans for the summer to drop a n/a 1275 engine in may just have changed, (in favour of a turbo engine) assuming i can afford to sort the bodywork out and rebuild my turbo engine.

Seriously go to Miniworld (HIC), 190 quid, not using any of my no claims, 4000 miles limited milage, agreed vlauation. Haven't found cheaper than that. It was about 280 at the age of 19.

HIC have done me proud for years but didn't come up trumps for my girlfriends quote.

I will push them a bit when the time comes as they insure all my other cars so are making enough out of me already :)

(Her quote was £316 for 10,000 with 2yr NCB, drive parked, decent area, agreed valuation £5 as going to be a concourse car. She is 26, 1 minor bump but not a British National and held a UK licence for less than 5 years...)

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I agree with matty, miniworld insurance was by far the cheapest for my 2l 16v mini.

I was quoted £130 for Mr Woo and almost collapsed laughing.

100 BHP 998 Turbo, Cage, etc, 26, no NCB to use, 3000 mile limited, agreed valuation, no bangs or points.

Just be careful if you want to take it Hill Climbing, as HIC will void your insurance if the car is used for any kind of competitive event, even if you have separate insurance for the event, due to public liability.

Bare in mind these quotes are for second cars.

Track days are allowed as your are not racing against other divers or the clock. Mine actually specifies track use, however the amount of cover you get is questionable when you read the small print.

Ditto, mine "covers" track days. I think you have to give them prior notice at least a few weeks before hand though!

Not sure on the extent of the cover mind.

Rob and Matty both right and it depends on who is organising it.

For example the trackdays being arranged on here may not be covered unless the company is on the approved list.
