Slater, Just as a point of interest, The fuel pressure regulator operates more accuratley when it is mounted close to the carb.

This tank was fitted central in the boot, It's 4 gallon capacity. I cant show it fitted as I now have a flat boot floor and it fixes to the rear bulkhead and the wheel well floor

Dave

Dan I think you are confusing the fuel filter with the fuel presure regulator on slaters pic

Made it.

Its a well simple design. 1 internal baffle about 2" off the base with a 1" hole in the middle. The pickup pipe goes down the centre of the tank through the baffle from the top.

That must make mine worth £300+ then *happy*

(Pressure reg works fine where it is. So long as you set the pressure at the carb and not at the reg then you will take into account any pressure drop along the line.)

Not quite right Slater,
1) Set the pressure at idle and increase the flow as RPM increases and pressure at the carb will be less.
2) As the car accelerates the pressure at the carb will be less
Fit the regulator as close to the carb as possible and all will be good

Dave

heya jimster, i've gotta pass up on the tank, i've just had to get a full set of spax shocks for my mini, two of mine failed on the MOT so decided i'd change the lot to be on the safe side, n its tax time too!
so gotta put my alloy tank idea to the sideline for a couple of months which is a pissa as i've just made a brace bar to go from arch to arch with some tube & 3mmplate i have *surprised*(
sorry if thats inconvenianced you at all!!!
nxt inline to me jump in, jimsters looks a nice tank to me!

i'm going to be using it as a bit of re-inforcement to the subframe mounts on the bootfloor, i have a bar that go's from arch to arch & & once thats in i have two smaller bars that will link to the triangulated part thats the stiffener to the mounts, i proboly dont expalin that to well in txt, i'll do pics once its in, i feel supporting any part of the car that has something mounted to it is worthwhile

it's not a brace bar, it's an antiroll , if you look you can see the drop links going through the floor to the radius arms.
