Turbo Mini Forums

So the list of work i've eventually managed to get done is:

new turbo
new TPS bracket
new water and air temp sensors
new manifold take off's
wideband lambda fitted
new boost gauge
New oil return (pain in the ass but nicely done now!!)

still to go:
modify and fit the exhaust downpipe and make bracket
make an actuator bracket
modify the fuel tank
tidy a few bits up and an oil change.
Possibly neaten up the intercooler as its only thrown on!! ha ha!

Hoping to get most bits done tomoro and saturday night's then my plan is to get it to the RR on the 8th feb and see what banana's it is pushing out.

the problem with smoke on idle seems to have gone completely so looks like it was the turbo. we'll see when it gets on the rollers i guess.
I'll get some photos hopefully over the weekend. Seems to be a lot of wires and hoses all over the place!!!

i have a lambda sensor for my project, dont no what i'm doing with it yet cause i'm a novice, the provisions for its use are there tho

engine/box etc will be up for sale at the end of the year to fund a new engine/box combo

not getting rid of the car, although over the next winter will see it change a lot! aslong as i get moved house like i plan.

Miniflip, i have an ex-miglia now. that blue and yellow one i sold a long long time ago, maybe 3-4yrs!! lol!

Engines completly different now mind, nothing else has really changed apart from its got a bit more dust on it and fewer stickers.

yeah that gearbox is a good'un but i plan something a bit more exotic. got the dog box in there at the minute.

you fucking tarts, just looking at those pics makes me jealous

Yeah had it on the rollers the day before Avon but had a load of issues that i couldnt sort in time.

Then was basically away for 3 months with work so didnt have time to touch it!

Should be no excuses for avon unless it goes bang in the mean time!!!

idle's smooth at 900rpm even with the 1.5's and the phase 2 cam.

sounds spot on now with the exhaust fitted...

Here's a few pics. Still loads of tidying up to do, intercooler to sort out as its just lashed up at the mo plus many other tidying bits.

There's so many bloody cables and hoses!!!!

Also put in a pic of those steering arms

Oh yeah and there is the clearance with a T25, no bulkhead mods and no tipping the engine forward.

I wouldnt want it like that if my engine wasnt solid mounted but since it is its fine.

iain thats the 'tits' cracking looking piece of kit, i read the other thread about it, i must admit i'd say the same as 1071s, paint it biege & go hunting, i hope i have my lil 998 turbo ready for avon, i've prepared the car in most other ways bar the engine, which i have yet to have machined & then build & fit it arrrhh, i'm pretty determined though!

6 months alex july-jan

problem is i'm lucky if i've spent 50% of those 6 months in the country!!!

It will be having a more "road" paint scheme when i get a bigger garage to rebuild it in either over this or next winter

it will do for now though.
