Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Saw this advertised in PPC with a retail of £300, seems a bit cheaper from Stewart direct with the current dollar rate. whether it would work out better with VAT etc though i dont know.

I cant afford one just yet but looks a good package that i would certainly consider in the future.

Iain, Are you sure this will do what you want?
It seems not to be rated for use as a standalone pump at least not on a continuous basis.
If used as an assist to the standard pump it only appears usefull at idle and on shutdown.

Dave

Iain, Just re read it. GPM not GPH
55 Gallons/ minuit=(250 ltrs/min appx) .
How big is this thing !!!
It's rated 10x higher than the Bosch ones which have been used.
You are dead right it is more than adequate for any Mini if you can find somewhere to fit it.
Regards
Dave

Didn't see that bit - the one in the picture must be the bigger one - 1 1/4" isn't that big at all :)

This is the one I'll be using:
http://www.kspg-ag.de/pdfdoc/kspg_produktb...lant_pump_e.pdf

It's the CWA200 unit from the latest 'all singing' BMW something or other...
I don't care for those details, but know if it can cool a 5litre engine, it'll do for my mini LOL!

It's a sweet unit - brushless DC motor (ie will easilly outlast even a BMW) and variable speed via a simple PWM controller (which a guy at work is knocking up for me such that the speed will vary according to temperature.

oh - 38mm pipes, body is approx 85mm dia, whole thing 165mm long. It's big, but the quality of the unit far surpasses anything else on the market. And all for just $100 or somet like

:):):):):):):)

Everything about the Stewart Warner stuff seems a million times better than the plastic DaviesCraig offering.

I actually tried the DC on my old RV8, and ended up giving it away.
Didnt have the nerve to actually sell it on, although some have had good results with it.

That said, on a smaller engine etc, I could be tempted to try an electric setup.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Ive run a davies craig electric pump with a metro rad in mine since day one and struggle to get it up to 70 degrees.

Front rad and EWP is a fit and forget solution to over heating probs.

I have just returned from a visit in the US. I bought a meziere water pump over there. I plan to fit it soon, and we will see how that works then. It is the smallest type, but is almost the same size as the one Dave mentions I think.
