Just wondering if these are much different, my brother in law had one but never got chance to look under the bonnet. |

I use a Montego Turbo Carb. It's exactly the same (plenum and all) except that it has an automatic choke.
Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Brilliant mate! Yeah noticed the auto choke, got a spare few metro ones to convert it back.

is there any reason to want to use this one rather than a metro one or is it just so you can have a spare carb? |

Nope no reason at all, just want a spare thats all. If anything its more difficult to use the montego carb as it needs converting to manual choke.

isn't there a sealed su which was bigger in size, that's what i thought the montego one was, i think it was somewhere around 50mm????

They only made HIF44(T) for montegos, maestros and metros. Being a 44, it's a 1 3/4". None any bigger were available. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:
