my points appear to be a little burnt on the contacts, everything else seems ok, whats the cause of this usually

The condenser is supposed to stop this happening, so I would suggest a new condenser.

It would be better to fit an electronic dizzy from a later mini/metro.

It would be even better to fit a Megajolt, but I think you know that!

yeah i agree for defo axel, i'm trying to hold out with what i have till i have the new turbo motor built up & keep the megajolt & etc for that, i have an aldon ignitor but i'm not sure if its ok for my current car, mine is an 86 998, are there differant types of aldon ignitor for different mini lucas dizzys ie 25d 45d etc, i think i have a 45d on the one i have i'm having a look at it today to chk it over, gonna see if i have some parts in the garage, just been to the motor actors which were rubbish as usual & have to order the points/condensors in :( what an arse!

i think i could head for megajolt though to try to relieve my hassles :) have any of the members have a map for a standard 998 at all to get me going incase i have to get a megjolt up & running
