I know a lot of people are not a fan of these, but if you want to lower the compression on the cheap:

Its basicaly the same as having the piston 1.5mm down the bore (for the 6cc or 2.1mm for the 9cc plate)

This affects the amout of squish you get, one of the reasons that the A series works as well as it does is it has a good chamber and burn so you don't really want to sod that up.

So by the time you've fitted the two head gaskets your looking at either 12cc or 15cc? Seems like a lot of volume and hence a huge lowereing of CR to me.

The welding on the manifolds was shocking though. Was all over the bloody place, while I am sure it did the job he could have at least been tidy.

Surely you loose squish with large dish pistons?

I might buy one and let you know the results. Or could get my buddy to cut me one for nothing!
