hello all, right here goes, not long bought a turbo engine off ebay bargain price of £68 1293, omega pistons 10cc dish, avonbar p2 cam, kent vernier duplex kit,center main strap,when piston is at tdc pistons are 30 thou down the bore would i be better off having the block face skimmed or leave it as it is?also the crank where the primary gear runs measures 41.21mm or 1.633 is it a turbo crank that runs a bigger gear (cam 6232)?as it hasnt come with the gear i need to get one dont want to get the wrong one.onto the head,again bought off ebay as a high boost head. the beaks have been ground away just wondering if it can be used without any problems? or shall i start again with a standard head?worried about combustion problems.gearbox attatched is the dam 5626 casing no sc so dont laugh is this a good box to start with,also have two spare boxes dont know what they are off if anyone can tell me first one is dam 4818 as bought advertised as a turbo box,the other is dam2886 any answers greatly appreicated.thanks from a tm virgin.

Don't know about the box, but a de-beaked head will be fine.

Whoever built this engine obviously wanted a good low compression ratio. Work this out first before you get anything skimmed.

All 1275 cranks are the same size as far as the primary gear goes, so no worries there, read this http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=4724

Its the gearbos nose bearing that is bigger on the turbo. But because it cost so much ost people use the standard item (with the apropriate flywheel housing) and have no trouble.

As a final tip, try breaking your questions down into easy to read nuggets, uit was hard to pick out exactly what you were asking, which is why I suspect that you have so few replies.

Cheers thanks for the info,dont know who built the engine but on one of the core plugs it has a garantee void if removed on it so probably someone decent.The gearboxes,just wondered if they would suit my application and maybe could swap the diffs for a better ratio.again many thanks!!!!
