...and I've just bought a turbo to stick on my Open Classic. She does 100 miles a day commuting, looses 100grammes a day to rust and gains about a litre of water through the seive of a floorpan.

I have a young family and bought the Mini a year ago after selling my V8 Midget project as it only had enough seats for one of my sprogs (just wasn't fair really) -

So she looks standard and has an ebay tastic engine (Med head but otherwise std) whilst I play with the original lump (ie add turbo gubbins)

Looking forward to learning a lot from your mistakes

Its much cheaper, but your can't beat the experience of learning from your own. *wink*

Cheers for the welcome folks....
I'm going to spend a while lurking and reading. I'm pretty good with cars but forced induction is a new thing for me so I have a lot to learn. Since my car is the only way I can get the 40 odd miles to work I can't afford a holed piston or for any work to take more than a weekend.

Really should stay clear of turbos really but where's the fun in that.

From your hard earned experiences what would be your one tip that would avoid tears?
