i'm mounting my spare wheel & battery behind the front seats, what i want to know is, am i right in thinking that if everything is mounted as cental as possible its better for handling,

ie the battery in the centre of whats left of my rear seat pan, i have a bolt, nut & large washer that i could weld to the exhaust tunnel to mount the spare wheel on the middle of the car, do you guys think this would be ok?

i'm in a process of a few jobs on my mini at the mo, is microbore copper heating pipe ok to use as my return fuel line, is it the 10mm OD ok, or 8mm OD, & question the other is how can i test a mtty turbo fuel pump, its not in the car??? cheers chaps

i used the 8 & 10mm stuff for my feed and returns on me new one, and 8mm for both on me old one...no problems either way round.
to test the pump just stick 12v on it from a battery/booster starter thing...just dont run it for long dry though.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

well a lot of batteries are mounted on the passengar side as if there is only the driver in then you need to balance them out type of thing.

You could use studding for the mounts, or even small ratchet straps to hold it in place.

Pump on the battery as said, should spin up easy but they kick quite well so hold on.

8mm OD should be fine.

Regulator can be tested to see if it cna be adjusted to give 3ish psi then either use a air supply on the pressure input to see if it varies correctly with boost

well i've been out to tool myself up with my appropriate fuel lines, i got 2 meters of flexible fuel pipe for injected cars due to using a fuel pump & besides it looked far far better quality, also managed to get some nice solid fuel line too to route in the car, i may remove the steel feed line under the car put it inside too, could'nt find clips for the fuel line too hold it down which was an arse!

i must say coventry is rubbish & pricey for this type of automotive stuff!!!

thats ace iain that i can chk the FPR on my compressor,

bought some 3mm alloy plate too to make brackets for the fpr, fuel pump & such,
gonna get on to fitting it all in the car as soon as i get the chance, possibly over the evenings this week & weekend, got to fut a return on my tank too! i'm a lil nervy about that
