All down to those shit fuse boxes.

It's been such a long time since I've had to open a bonnet at the side of the road, I forgot how embarrassing it can be.

I think you are probably right. But I think new crimps and a new box should last another 15 years!!

wd 40! and a double check that that everything is crimped well and not come loose!

thats what i do, used to get props when i first bought the car then i put new connectors on them and changed the fuse box! no props so far, touch wood

how hard is it to put the box into the car then?
does it mean re-wiring everything or just feeding it all through?

cheers
josh

i fed it all through so it went under the dash facing the floor if you know what i mean, dead easy just takes a lil bit time, you can also convert the fuse box type to blade fuses rather than the bullit type which i prefer *wink* last much longer too

yea i agree, pissed about with the normal fuse box every so often when eletrics went so i replaced whole lot with new fuse box and connectors to a blade type now and its fine works a treat. they cheap get hold of too. demon tweeks sell em. only took about half hour change over and mount new fuse box.

I have put a blade one in too, fixed all the problems. You can only clean the connections so many times.

The real problem with the normal fuse box is that the blades are conected to the fuse hulser by a rivet. Once the connection between blade and fuse holder corrode no amount of cleaning or wd40 solves the problem.

job done then mate *wink* did you bring em into the car too or have you just exchanged the box in situ ?

Richie

EDIT: a canny tip i could give is to get a small container with foam in and fill it with 2 spare fuses (per amp that the car uses) and strap the box under your seat or stow it away somewhere safe in the car.......on a rainy day if you get a problem with a fuse pull over and change it inside the car dont get wet that way *wink*
