What are the bennefits and draw backs of venting the flywheel cover? I can understand the increased air flow being a good thing, how does the clutch now deal with ingress of forign bodies and possibly water?

I like solution two better than the first picture. Foreign objects will defo enter the housing, but small bits are not that bad. WHen you drill 2" holes big stuff that can seize the flywheel may enter. Bad idea.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |
