really really sorry but this is nothing to do with minis, but i wondered if i can ask your opinions because you always give the right answers

a few days ago i started a website at www.shaygrange.co.uk

basically, my step dad, divorced from my mum ran it up until before september last year. he basically pocketed all the money, and ran up over £300,000 worth of debt. £100,000 of that was also in my mums name, lesley seekings, he had kept it a secret from her that he had signed the house to it.

In september, everyone faced losing their jobs and the place would be shut down. But, my mum had the opertunity to remortgage her house, to buy all the assets from shay grange and to keep running it. She was encouraged by the staff so they would lose their jobs.

Rent carried on being accepted september, october, november and december, she was still unware of the 100,000 debt that was upon her. In january they had refused rent. and one night, closed the business.

Over the winter the golf course is dead, but lesley spent all her money and time and efforts restoring the place, buying new machinery, and making it such a nice place.

She found out it was closed because of the 100,000 debt. She remortgaged her house AGAIN, raised the 100,000, offered it to proctors and they have just ignored her for weeks.

Mike, her husband, sold his daughters house, got 10,000 and offer them that to grant lesley a 6months temporary lease.

running the place over summer would give her at least some chance to make some money back.

Anwyay, up until yesterday we heard nothing from proctors.

I started a message board at www.shaygrange.co.uk, and they posted there yesterday. Basically, they wouldnt say it over the phone, but they, through an internet message board, told everyone that a new tennant is starting in march.

We have all worked so hard on the golf club everything has been refurbished. the course is immaculate it was such a run down dump. So my mum, lesley seekings has lost out. Now, our house will be taken and the money given to proctor brothers anyway, so they know they get their money, and Lesley faces debt.

Also they will be able to sell the business on and make money there. or should i say, their newly "freely" refurbished business.

I have had an email from them this morning, i have banned them from the guestbook message board you see. Basically they have told me they are contacting their lawyers.

Have i dont anything wrong? Should the site be removed?

If i didnt do the site, everyone was blaming my mum for closing the place down and pocketing all the membership fees and things. and the members needed to know the reason why they have lost all their membership fees etc.

I'd take proper legal advice on this one TBH.

im confused, but could you not sue the bloke for writting a debt to your house?

Dont think you will get in trouble for the site as all the information is factual.

yeah thats what i thought. Its factual. so ill leave it up there till i get a solicitors letter!

I am no lawyer but, I think if a house is jointly owned one of the owners cannot borrow against the house without the full agreement of the other partner.
If the bank has allowed this they are at fault and it may be well worth seeking legal advice on this point. It may not get the Golf course back but it may reduce the debt on your Mother

There is NO reason at all that they have chosen the new tennant over my mum. They both offered the same money. They both offered to pay the same rent. The only difference between it all is that lesley is a female, and they always kept investigating how things were running while she was there, then once everything was refurbished and nice and all in control, no debts etc, closed it up on her.

Sexual discrimination it seems to me! heard it from quite a few people now!

Could she have a case? Ive got to encourage her to do something about this shes an absolute wreck at the moment she hasnt stopped crying its awful

Feeb .. not sure how I can help mate. The best thing to do is to get somebody who specialises in this sort of thing to represent you mother. Normally if they think there is a case they will be happy to tale payment at the end of proceedings rather than up front.
