how reliable is everyones turbo minis, im lookin to turbo but need something reliable for work purposes! my mate has one but his aint that reliable

any high power mini isnt going to be 100% reliable.... they are old cars and your making it worse by fitting a non std engine.

That said with a well built one that is PROPERLY maintained (ie no expesce spared) should be able to be used daily... but I would still expect more breakdowns than a brand new KA for example.

Theres no way round it really, old cars arn't relaible.

As Alex says, you wouldn't expect a 90,000 mile metro to be reliable, but pulling the engine out of one and putting it in a mini seems to make most people think it will be pretty relaible if they leave it standard...
Also amazing how many 'one lady owner, 50k only' metro turbo engines there are around aswell...
Rebuild the engine and gearbox properly, and you won't have a problem for some time - at least not in the areas you've rebuilt...
Most of the time it is 'corner/cost cutting' - AKA BODGING - that makes things unreliable however!

yep, like my wiring loom spaghetti that had the RAC out 3 times last year Changing it as soon as i can get hold of one! ive cut the old one out.
